Call for Abstracts: International Property Law Conference, South Africa


The University of South Africa is holding an International Property Law Conference in Pretoria on 28-29 October 2010. The organizers invite abstracts for papers to be presented at the conference. Conference proceedings will be published in a peer-reviewed conference publication. The deadline to submit abstracts of up to 350 words is 15 February 2010.

Keynote sessions for the conference include:

  • Basic Principles of Property Law by Prof. em. Dr. Dr.h.c. H P Westermann, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany
  • Acquisition of Ownership by Mr Justice L Mpati, President, Supreme Court of Appeal, South Africa
  • Real Security Law by Dr AJM Steven, University of Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Constitutional Property Law by Prof AJ Van der Walt, Professor of Law and South African Research Chair in Property Law, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa

Guidelines and Deadline

All topics related to IP law are encouraged. Submissions are open to all, including law students and Ph.D. students, worldwide.

Abstracts should not exceed 350 words.

Please note that the conference organizers are not responsible for speakers’ travel costs. Speakers are not exempted from the registration fee.
